Exposure Measurements

Exposure Measurements

Personal exposure measurements started in January 2014 and are on-going. Every week, two deployments - one starting Monday morning and the next Wednesday morning - are measuring 48-hour personal PM2.5 (particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in aerodynamic diameter) and carbon monoxide (CO) exposure. Waist packs/backpacks are worn which contain the PM2.5 sampling equipment while CO monitors are worn around the neck to measure CO near the respiration area. Small children are given REACCTING t-shirts with locally made pockets to house the CO monitors.

Getting geared for personal air quality measurements.
